garden journal

January 9, 2011

I think I’ll start my keeping track of my garden. What we planted when, how it’s doing, too much sun, too little sun… you know, so maybe I can remember what we do year to year and not repeat any mistakes. I’m so glad I accidentally saved all the tags from our projects last summer. This will be my place to write down the names of plants I like, ideas, sketches, and inexperienced green-thumb thoughts. And this will really come in handy this spring, when I try out the greenhouse again. I think I’ll try to be very scientific about it all. Wish me luck!

Another plus to keeping a Garden Journal is that you’ll know exactly what you have planted in your beds so you won’t dig up one thing that’s dormant while planting something new; also, if you’re planning an event, you’ll know what blooms near that date and you can plan your decor with ease. You go, girl!
