a glimmer of hope

February 10, 2011

I walked Birch out to the backyard to play yesterday afternoon, and as I surveyed the cold, nearly frozen ground I was so sad that it’s only February and there is still snow and ice in the daily forecasts. But then I noticed this bright pink glimmer of hope calling to me from the other side of the yard. Oh my gosh! I can’t believe these camelias survive [much less thrive and bloom!] in such cold, yucky weather.
You go, girl! I’m pretty sure she’s a girl.
