Look at these brave little ones! They’re first out of the gate during these warm glimpses of Spring. I feel a little bit like them I suppose, coming back to life now after a long, cold winter. As a new gardener, I am learning to love Lenten Roses for their evergreen leaves, color variations, their adaption to shade living. Which, by the way, I’m learning is not so bad after my initial fears that “it’s too hard to make a garden in full shade!” Anyway, these pretty fellas came here by way of the great migration a few days ago.
I can’t wait to get a darker Helleborus orientalis and see what colors they create on their own. They mate, you know.
