You know that tart pan, the one on the bottom of the drawer under all the cookie sheets? The one you received as a wedding gift over 2 years ago? The one you dreamed would fill your home with sweet smells and delicious desserts? Well, I should finally busted it out of the drawer and put it to use.
I was intimidated by the dough still, but this tart was even easier than January’s Apple Galette, if that’s possible. The dough is soft and sweet, the pastry filling is creamy with a hint of lime, and the fruit is fresh and perfect – and easy to swap whatever fruit you’re favoring that day. The dough did shrink up a bit, so the edges are short and irregular, but that’s okay, it’s evidence of homemade-ness. And being made with love of course, for Valentine’s Day.
