Home Tour: My Sister’s Super Cool Apartment

June 13, 2012

Good morning yall! I am so, so excited about the apartment I’m going to show you today. It’s my sister’s! My sweet, younger sister is a talented artist, uber stylish, super smart, and just all around a fun and encouraging person to be around. And even better, she lives here with her best friend, who just happens to be awesome, too. Kendall is also a talented artist (two talented artists make for one great apartment!) and when I asked about her ceramic mugs or recent photography prints, she couldn’t give them to me fast enough! Sweet, sweet girls.
So, Anna and Mom did lots of organizing and planning for this apartment. The best part? Most (almost all!) of these pieces were already in our family. Anna went shopping at Mom’s house, got some hand-me-downs from Uncle Mark, and chose pillows at our Aunt’s store. She picked some great pieces that really go together well! So… I’ll stop gushing and show you my precious sister’s apartment.
This armless, mohair sofa is the coolest. Clean lines, great color. The perfect backdrop for colorful pillows to really pop! And that tufted leather chair and ottoman with nailhead trim. Mmm. So comfortable.
This gold brocade armchair belonged to a great-grandmother of ours. I’m sure she would be so happy to know that’s it’s still getting good use! And it’s actually really comfortable.
We all fell in love with this rug after much google searching for anything kilim. Isn’t it great?
I just love the abundance of colorful pillows! Leopard, floral, yellow. Yes.
And now for my favorite part. The dining room…
Be still my heart. Can you believe the gorgeousness of the Ikea tulip table with these vintage dining chairs? It’s true love.
Voila! There it is. The perfect apartment for two young, stylish ladies! Great job, girls. And Mom, of course.
