Anna is a talented artist herself and has started a great collection of meaningful artwork. She put her gallery wall to the left of the bed and included a mirror to bounce some light and add some depth to the skinny room. She’s also really enthused about all the pattern mixing going on in this room. Kilim rug, floral bedspread, gingham bedskirt, leopard pillows, floral pillows, hexagon bench – the list goes on!
Since my little sister moved in with us last month, we’ve been working on making our basement a nice place for her to call home during the dreaded post-college transition period. Her bedroom is coming together nicely, so I wanted to share a few shots!
It’s really long and awkward bedroom shape. I’m not sure what they were thinking when they built up the walls around this basement! It is nice to have a window though, the rest of the basement (except the french door area to the screened-in-porch) is window-less. Anna wanted to have her sofa in the room so it worked out well to have a sofa and skinny tv/desk area in the first half of the room and the bed against the back wall.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might recognize a bunch of these pieces from Anna’s college apartment. It’s just packed into a much smaller space now!
