Getting Involved at the Farmer’s Market

July 9, 2013

I’ve mentioned this a few times lately, but we’ve been getting more involved at our local farmer’s market recently and we’re loving it. I think it’s so important to support the small business and farmers that are making an effort to provide healthy, organic foods and goods to their community. Plus, it makes for a fun Saturday morning to become a regular at the market and check in on all your favorite vendors. If you haven’t gotten involved at your local market, I encourage you to try it!
Besides the fresh veggies, there are lots of other fun surprises at our market. I found some natural lavender and mint soaps that I love from Indigo Bath & Body, yummy popsicles from Wholly Pops, there’s always live music and the people are all really nice. You can probably tell, I’m smitten!

And if you’re in the mood for something not as healthy and wholesome as fresh veggies, my new friend Marcus makes the BEST beignets you’ve ever had. Really.

Ooh, I’m so jealous! We haven’t found a good weekend farmer’s market near us yet, and I’m always on the lookout for one. My parents have a great one back in Honolulu, and I loved the ones in Portland (especially the one at PSU). I miss them!

    P.S. Those beignets look amazinggggg.
