I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend! We definitely did, besides the firework-canceling rain. It was a pretty unplugged long weekend and I totally lost track of what day it was about halfway through. We enjoyed some time with friends, relaxing, and a trip to the Farmer’s Market. We have been loving our time at the market lately. We’ve tasted some delicious bread and yummy veggies. Here’s one I’ve never heard of, maybe you all have… Lemon cucumbers? They’re so interesting!
They’re small, round cucumbers with have a light yellow exterior that makes them look like lemons! The flavor is still very cucumber-like though. I really wanted to do a blind taste test to see if I could tell the difference.
I put the lemon cucumber slices with a few giant basil leaves to make a little lemon cucumber basil infused water. It’s delicious! It’ll make you think you’re at a fancy spa, for sure. It had been in the fridge for about 24 hours by the time the flavor got really nice and strong.
