San Francisco

August 26, 2013

Hello friends! We are back from our vacation! I promise I’ll stop talking about San Francisco eventually, but I can’t wait to share everything we did! There is so much to talk about, I will definitely be sharing all the touristy stuff, where we wish we’d spent more time and what we loved about this city. For now, here’s a brief recap and some of my favorite photos! (I’ve been pouring through 800+ photos all day today!)

The first day of our trip, we stopped at Tartine Bakery to grab breakfast before we made the drive up to wine country. In all honesty, I wanted our night at this precious bed and breakfast to be the last night of our trip (a romantic end to the vacation), but they were all booked up! So we ended up staying here first and it really set the tone for our trip, relaxed. It’s hard to be relaxed on a “city” vacation, but I think our time at the Beltane really helped!

Next, on our way back into the city we stopped at Muir Woods to see the redwoods. (Full post coming on that!) It was breathtaking. Then we headed into the city to explore for two and a half days. Here’s what we did!
Day 1
Muir Woods in the morning
Late lunch in Union Square
Got settled at our hotel, the Sir Frances Drake
Dinner with Meredith & Viet at Tacolicious in the Mission
Day 2
Breakfast at Caffe Sapore
Lombard Street
Fisherman’s Wharf and Ferry Building
(We stumbled upon some preparations for the America’s Cup in a few weeks, so we walked around their piers and looked at all the fancy sailboats!)
Lunch from Bi-Rite Grocery and a picnic in the grass across the street at Dolores Park
(Then we did a little work – a photoshoot with my new friend Kirsten! I can’t wait to show y’all what we did!)
Giants game & dinner at the ball park (The garlic fries definitely lived up to the hype!)

Day 3

Breakfast at the Ferry Building
Ferry to Sausalito
A relaxing beer looking over the water, ice cream & walking around Sausalito – SO cute!
Back to San Fran to see the Painted Ladies (Full House!)
Exploring Hayes Valley (we wish we’d spent more time here!)
Dinner at Foreign Cinema
That’s it, I think! I’ll be sharing more details over the next few weeks!

wow, sounds like such fun! :) Those giant trees near your B&B are impressive. (though not as impressive as the redwoods you probably saw at Muir Woods!)
