An Easy Vertical Garden

Post and giveaway sponsored by Pennington Vertical Gardens. All opinions are my own.

Have you guys tried vertical gardening in your outdoor spaces? If you haven’t, you should! I love sharing gardening tips with y’all and this is a fun one. I really love this Pennington Vertical Garden set up, vertical bars with planters and pots that can be moved around in whatever design you like. I asked my neighbors, Kelley and Bobby, if they’d like to try it out on their back deck and I’m so glad they were up for it! Here’s what we did.

Kelley and I headed to Home Depot to pick out some pretty greenery for each of the planters. Kelley and Bobby loved the idea of having some herbs close to their kitchen for easy cooking, so we made the rectangular cedar box the herb garden. We planted oregano, purple basil, and rosemary. We added a parsley in the smallest silver pot that hangs right beneath the cedar box. Then for the two bottom plants we got some classic fall plants, mums and pansies with a couple of dusty millers to coordinate with the color of the pansies. How pretty are those colors together? I just love this combo!

The Pennington system is pretty easy to install too! Kelley and I put it together just the two of us in about three hours one Friday afternoon. And we were chatting and getting distracted the whole time, so that’s a long estimate! You only need one tool – a drill. The vertical garden comes with two weather-coated vertical rails (available in 2, 4 or 6 foot lengths) and three cedar planks (available in 18, 24 or 30 inch lengths). The pots and hooks are all interchangeable so you can use them all or pick which ones are your favorites. All you do to set up is screw the horizontal cedar planks to their hooks and attach those hooks to the vertical rails. Make sure you get the cedar planks level and hang your pots!

Kelley and Bobby had just done a massive deck project, they added stairs and stained it this gorgeous dark tone. Doesn’t it look great? Fabulous job, Bobby!

So if you’re looking for an easy vertical garden that will go with any outdoor space and grow with you as your gardening aspirations grow, check out the Pennington Vertical Garden. Thank you, Kelley and Bobby, for letting me take over your deck for an afternoon!

Oh and I can’t forget this part! The winner of the $50 Home Depot gift card giveaway is #4 D Schmidt. I’ll be emailing you today!
