Welcome to the cozy master bedroom. There are a lot of things I already love about this bedroom. I love the wall of windows on the right. Three huge windows let in an awesome amount of light. They also look out into the backyard which is just delightful.
We each have a closet. And they’re a pretty good size, too. I need to do a little rearranging of shelves and rods, but that’s no big deal. Plus, the cabinets above are great storage spots. We happened to be doing our packing during really great go-through-your-clothes seasons, so I purged my fall clothes when we packed up our old house in November, and I’m purging my spring clothes now as I unpack.
The other thing I love about our bedroom is that it’s centrally located, so it doesn’t feel inconvenient to go put something away in the proper place or grab a load of laundry. In our old house, the master bedroom was upstairs and felt far away. Really it’s the layout of the whole house that makes every room feel convenient – one story, long hall – but I really love it.
To the left of the closets is our bathroom. It’s a great space and we like having our own sinks. The floor between the sinks is unfinished and missing baseboards – we haven’t quite figured out why! The previous owner had a large armoire here for storage, so they must have cut the baseboards off so it could fit flush with the wall and they must have re-stained the floors and not bothered to move the armoire. Anyway, I love all the finishes in the bathroom. White honeycomb tile is the prettiest.
So I should have turned the camera around here and gotten another shot of the whole room, but I’ll just have to show you again once we get it all set up. When you come out of the bedroom door, you turn right to go back down the hallway toward the guest bedrooms, front rooms and front door and turning left puts you in the kitchen. I can’t wait to show you the kitchen!
