I snapped a few photos around the house over the weekend to document the progress we’re making inside the house, now that the studio is done. It’s feeling good good to get the house in shape. We’re at that point where we’re making progress past the stuff you can’t see (organizing the garage) to the good stuff you can see – guest rooms!

I love our back door. We come in and out the back every day. We’ve hung two pieces of art in the whole house. This is one of them.

The den is a total work in progress. The sideboard above became Allen’s nighstand. We’re saving this room for last because we’ll be doing such a furniture overhaul, new sofa, new rug, etc. Saving up!

Our bedroom is lovely and full of light from these three awesome windows. I got the braided quilt from West Elm and I love it. (It’s on sale now!) Birch loves it too. Also, did you notice the walls in here are different colors. The wall on the right is Pistachio something. That’ll be white soon too.

We did a little nighstand switcheroo. The top one stayed mine and the bottom one (used to be in the den) became Allen’s.

That blue and red stripe wall in the first guest room has somehow survived the first few months in the new house. It won’t make it much longer! I found a pretty blue matelasse quilt (at TJ Maxx!) to pair with the West Elm grey and white duvet. I ordered a floral bedskirt that I’m going to customize and I have a few other items ready to personalize this guest room. I can’t wait to pull it all together. Onward!

Loving the new house! Can’t wait to see more. What paint colors are you using? I am having the hardest time finding a white that is warm enough to paint on the trim, ceiling and walls without it looking like a hospital room. Any ideas? Thanks!

Of course! I’m using Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White in a few rooms and the studio is Behr Polar Bear. We have a really warm white on the trim in the hallway, it’s called Navajo White (I think it’s BM) so you could try it if you’re looking for really warm and creamy. Good luck! :)
