I can hardly believe it’s time for Easter already! I made these floral Easter eggs last year and I still love them this year. The thickness of the flowers on the thin eggs is a really neat detail. I suppose it’s time to make another batch!
See how I made them here.
I always look forward to picking out our Christmas cards. Remembering fun moments from the past year and trying to pick out a favorite. 2013 was a really fun year for us so it was especially fun going through all the photos. We ended up picking a photo from our trip to San Francisco, by the lovely Kirsten of KNW Photography.

Our Christmas this year is a little backwards. Regular readers know, we actually just sold our house
last week! We were so sad to leave our first house
(we made so many memories in our four years there!) but we’re really excited to find our next house and get started making it our home. Our house actually sold so fast, we haven’t found our next place yet! It’s definitely a good problem to have. We’re staying with my husband’s parents while we house hunt, so today I would love to show you how we did Christmas
at our old house for the Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge
I work full-time as Senior Editor of the Home Depot blog, but I actually participated in this Style Challenge just before I started there! The whole series is really great, you should check it out!
The biggest project from our Christmas decorating is our DIY joyful sign
! It’s such a neat look! We made it with rope lights and hung it on the mantle. (I miss that mantle!) The full story is on the Home Depot blog
, but you might have to do a double take when you first look at it – it looks like joyFEEL instead of joyFUL! Those rope lights are hard to work with!
Our sweet vizsla, Birch
, got in on all the decorating action. He is quite a handful!
Well, that was our Christmas decorating this year! Even if this is my old (tear!) house.
